American Soldier Show at Nelson-Atkins
Photographs of soldiers from past and present opens at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in the Bloch Building on January 23. The show will run through June 21, 2015. Admission is free. Images date back as far as the Civil War and up to current conflicts in the Middle East and Afghanistan. The photos are used to convey both information and emotion and shape our cultural memory.
This exhibition coincides with the city-wide commemoration of the 100th anniversary of WWI. The exhibition is supported by the Hall Family Foundation and the Campbell-Calvin Fund & Elizabeth C. Bonner Charitable Trust.
