Mulvane Art Musuem Receives Substantial Donations

Rita Blitt, painter, sculptor and film-maker,  and her husband have donated 800 pieces of her art to Washburn University. She has also made a financial donation that will allow for a gallery addition to house her works and for traveling exhibits. The new addition will extend White Concert Hall to connect to a recital hall that would seat 250, and the gallery could be completed in 18 months.

“Irwin and I selected Washburn University because of its commitment to the arts and vision for the future. I know the Mulvane will be a wonderful venue to exhibit my life’s work,” Blitt said. “I’m thrilled to provide this gift to both the University and the region.”
