Nelson-Atkins Expanding the Impressionist Collection

The Bloch Family Foundation will finance a two-year, $11.7 million renovation at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art to house an expanded impressionist and post-impressionist collection.  The additon will bring in 29 more works from the Bloch private collection.  Artists with pieces in the collection include Manet, Monet, Gaugin, Cézanne, Degas, van Gogh, Renoir, Pissaro, Morisot, Sisley, Bonnard, Matisse, Boudin, Caillebotte, Redon, Seurat, Signac, Toulouse-Lautrec and Vuillard.  The new addition is schedule to open in 2017.
