S. Helen Buening Student Art Show opens this Sunday: Atchison Arts Center

Celebrating Youth Art Month at the Muchnic

Opening Sunday March, 5th 1-4pm

Creative artworks from Atchison and Hiawatha art students in grades K through 12 will be on display during the month of March at the Muchnic Art Gallery in Atchison, Kansas. This multi- media exhibit, sponsored by the Atchison Art Association, highlights Youth Art Month, a national celebration sponsored by Council for Art Education. The annual S. Helen Student Art Show emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages support for quality art programs in state and private schools.

Students from eleven schools and organizations, Atchison USD 409, Trinity Lutheran, St. Benedict’s, Maur Hill, Riverbend International, Masters Then & Now, Atchison 4H, and Hiawatha 415 are participating in this year’s S. Helen Buening Student Art Show exhibit. Each entry has received the Sister Helen Buening Art Achievement Award and is a contestant for a first, second, or third place ribbon awarded to each school or organization. Show winners announced at the reception on Sunday, March 5th, 1-5pm
